whew this thing is wearing me out.

I am nearly done...It took a lot longer than I would have thought to really think these parts through.
It's not so much the time inking it...as it is deciding on what will look cool....what's going to work...what to leave in what to not ink....
I did black out some stuff at the bottom (just to hide it on this wip scan)...there's still a few things below that haven't been seen.
I should have this done and up here tomorrow night...I didn't realize how much more I had done since the last work in progress so this is a decent update anyway..but doesn't really spoil the ending.
hahaha
I don't want to over hype it...honestly it's just a drawing...so don't get your hopes too high.
also:
Not everything on this scan is totally done....so you know feel free to critique and comment but know also there are things that I still need to finish.
It's been fun working...today I was definitely feeling the pressure...it's like 'these last parts are tough..' (the last two parts that haven't been seen yet...might be the hardest yet
(lucky me)
so I am still clinging to two more drawings that need ink....and this thing is wrap./
one question, is this inking done with regard t how it will be colored, or will this be a finished piece when it's done? The reason i ask is because those values done on some of the faces REALLY start to move to the point of texture as apposed to being affected by light.
I remember you mentioning a wash before, is that going to be applied after the initial total inking? What type of wash are you going to use, I am not too familiar with doing washes over inks so if you could explain that it'd be cool=]
as always can't wait to see more=]
I hate to keep referring to these pieces but the story was...I had this crazy idea to do an African piece...why I am not sure? It just happened. It was just pen and ink...I found it really fun to do and I wanted to see if I could push that style a little farther and I did the Samurai piece...that one seemed like it needed a follow up. At that point I was thinking....
ok what culture would be interesting to draw (and I found some really cool ones) but I felt like the choice was way too predictable and so I started thinking..."what else could I do in this style"
Blade Runner seemed like an odd choice but also as I thought about it.....could test and push all the things I had just learned.
so yeah...black and white, I was thinking about washes because I do feel like it would add something really cool to it.
But I also feel like it's fine as this is...and since the other two don't have wash....it fits more into the trilogy of the pieces.
I will do a pieces like this with wash in the future...not on this one...
ink wash just means watered down ink. You take your ink and add water until you get the color (or value) you want....
that's about it. apply it with a brush.
