Supergirls

I bumped this up to my profile image because this was directly inspired by a Supergirl cover (or ad Michael Turner had done a few years back)

I remember seeing the piece in all the DC books one month and it was when I was just kind of getting my sea legs and my work was starting to not look too horrible anymore...but I was like...'dang he got to do a full face of a pretty girl for a cover, how fun is that?!!...and exactly how in my journal post I said I was a fan of Mike's work and he always made drawing look fun(and especially drawing pretty girls)...his Supergirl ad looked SO fun in fact I basically did one myself...

I am going to do a NEW piece dedicated to Mike this week....I always find that doing a memorial type drawing lets me spend some time with the person and really to I guess enjoy their work, think about their life, and spirit and stuff...it's hard to express grief I think so..for me sometimes getting it out in something creative helps me sort my own feelings....which I am not always so great with..

This was a real quick one. I basically drew two things....fudged in the rest and it was a wrap. (ref used)

The color was just a quick application of water color...nothing big, I just wanted to bump up the volume a tiny bit.

Looking back now....there are things I prefer about the black and white one better...if anyone wants to take a shot on the black and white coloring it..
