Artist's Comments

I did this for I think the second Phantastic 4 sketchbook. Since I wasn't getting anything published anywhere....I always used the sketchbook as a chance to push and pull things I wanted to draw.

I gave this as a gift to artist and film writer and director Tomm Coker...my good friend. He would always say..."draw a book like this~!!" He always really loved the piece.

I never knew Tomm Coker was a filmmaker, I have only ever read two of his comics and I remember loving the style he used...interesting

Art so thick, you can stand a fork in it

:fork:
yeah he got the follow up indie directors deal from Lionsgate (think that was the company?) after "Saw".

Those moves did so well Tomm's movie (although done) kept getting pushed back for release. He ended up getting it back several years later and another company put it out.

It's called Catacombs.
That's an amazing piece. Love the style.

True understanding is difficult
Tomm used to Live right down the hall from me here In Burbank. My stepson was really good friends with his son. funny how really small this business is when ya look around at people.
And I actually just found Tomm on Myspace last week, and his old partner (who also used to live in the building) Troy Hubbs.

As for the pic...very dark and moody. I love the textures you've got going on in here.

Wow. Awsome, I mean. Did you do this with only a pencil and some ink? Looks like watercolours too, but I prolly wrong (?)
A damn great job
